Dangerous Ketek Side Effects:
Ketek Liver Damage
Although it is more rare than other side effects, liver damage and liver failure are very serious and potentially fatal side effects that may occur in those taking Ketek. In 2006, the first cases of death due to liver damage were reported in conjunction with Ketek. As of April of 2008, Ketek has been linked with 18 deaths and 134 cases of reported liver damage. In response, the FDA has issued public safety reports and required Sanofi-Aventis to place additional warning information on the Ketek label. The FDA continues to research and monitor Ketek, especially after reports and legal action taken in relation to irresponsible and falsified clinical trial conduct on the part of at least one medical researcher.
